The Overseas Brand Registration Support is a Ministry of Trade incentive program that provides for the coverage of expenses for the registration and protection of Turkish brands abroad. The aim is to enable Turkish firms to secure their brand rights in global markets and to accelerate their branding processes. Both the registration process and legal protection expenses are supported within the scope of the incentive.
Capital companies based in Turkey that own a brand and are engaged in export can benefit from this support. To benefit from the support, the brand must be registered with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office or an application for registration must have been made. Exporters with the status of both manufacturing and trading companies are within the scope of the support.
Note: The registration process and applications must be made to the valid trademark office in the supported country (e.g., EUIPO).
Ensure that the brand is registered with the Turkish Patent office or that an application has been filed.
All expenditures for overseas registration (agent fees, application fees, etc.) are invoiced to the applicant company and paid.
An application is made via DYS (Support Management System) within 6 months at the latest from the date of expenditure.
Supporting documents such as trademark registration certificates, the invoice, payment receipt, service contract, and power of attorney are attached to the application.
The relevant Exporters' Association reviews the application, and if approved, the support payment is made in TRY by the Ministry.
